In the past two seasons, make that two disappointing playoff exits for the Buffalo Bills.
Unfortunately, they were eliminated by the Kansas City Chiefs in both instances.
In 2020, the Bills lost to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game.
Last season, they fell short in overtime during their Divisional Round encounter.
However, the nature of their defeat sparked changes in the overtime rules.
During the game, Josh Allen was lights out, giving his team the lead with 13 seconds left in regulation.
But aside from his superb performance, wide receiver Gabriel Davis also had his breakout game.
It was surprising that that typically unheralded receiver kept the Bills in the contest.
However, his former teammate wasn’t surprised with what he showed against the Chiefs.
On @GMFB , current free agent WR Emannuel Sanders (@ESanders_10 ) says he's been around great young wide receivers. Antonio Brown, Michael Thomas, and Demaryius Thomas… and Gabriel Davis is right up there with all of them.
"He's going to be a superstar."@BuffaloBills

“Good Morning Football” host Peter Schrager tweeted, “On @GMFB, current free agent WR Emmanuel Sanders (@ESanders_10) says he’s been around great young wide receivers. Antonio Brown, Michael Thomas, Demaryius Thomas… and Gabriel Davis is right up there with all of them. ‘He’s going to be a superstar.'”
That’s high praise from someone who has been in the league for a long time.
Davis Introduced Himself On National Television
The wideout from the University of Central Florida had a modest 2021 regular season with 549 yards and six touchdowns.
His best game came against the New York Jets, wherein he had 105 yards on three receptions.
However, he brought out his best when the lights were brighter, and the stakes were higher.
Davis had four touchdowns for 201 yards against the Chiefs, including two go-ahead scores in the closing minutes of regulation.
He could have been a hero if Patrick Mahomes did not take over the spotlight with 13 seconds left in the game.
Sanders is confident that his performance for the ages will only be the beginning of greater things in Davis’ career.
