It’s safe to say that there’s not much sympathy for the Boston Celtics and their fans around the NBA.
The Celtics are tied for the most NBA championships (17) and have been historically dominant, so their fans aren’t exactly humble when it comes to talking about their teams.
That’s why NBA fans didn’t care about the recent report of Malcolm Brogdon’s injury.
Multiple people flooded social media to take a shot at the Celtics, hoping their season ends now so Brogdon can rest and heal up, and citing that they’re just making up excuses for their struggles vs. the Miami Heat.
Celtics fan here… we don’t care. Win Game 5.

It happens.
Big market fan bases don’t get the benefit of the doubt, and fans don’t usually root for teams like the Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers, and now Golden State Warriors.
Even so, players shouldn’t pay the price for that.
Brogdon has always been a respectful player, and the fact that he’s playing through injury speaks volumes about his character, work ethic, and determination to help his team win at all costs.
Also, with all due respect to Malcolm Brogdon, who’s been a pivotal member of this Celtics team, he’s not Jayson Tatum or Jaylen Brown, so he shouldn’t be the main reason why the Celtics have struggled so badly in the Eastern Conference Finals.
The Celtics will look to live for another day and force Game 6 on the road with a win on Thursday night, but that’ll be easier said than done, even with a great game by Brogdon.
