While not many players dream of making it to the NBA Summer League, it’s actually the start of some legendary careers.
Of course, most of the players on those rosters don’t even make it to the league, but it gives plenty of guys a chance to showcase their skills and personalities and get an opportunity to fulfill their dreams.
With that in mind, the league even decided to give it an extra boost by handing out championship rings in the NBA 2K Summer League in Las Vegas.
Notably, the rings are a beautiful work of art, and it would be very hard to tell between one of those and an actual NBA championship ring.
Still, considering that it’s just Summer League we’re talking about, some fans had plenty of thoughts about them when SportsCenter shared a picture of them.
Next the NBA will be handing out rings to players that showed up for “The Fall Practice League.”

ruining the legacy of the league. I wouldn't be surprised if they started making rings for the NBA Finals runner-up.

Truth be told, it does feel kind of weird that players get rings for winning the Summer League.
On the other hand, that’s as far as some of them will get in their professional careers, and it’s a nice gesture by the league to reward their effort, even if it’s not the real thing.
There are only so many open roster spots in the NBA, and even the bottom-of-the-bench kind of players are still better than 99% of basketball players on Earth.
Just being considered for a roster spot in the league means you’re among a handful of elite talents, and there’s no need to mock or make fun of those who pursued their dreams and didn’t make it.NEXT: Jonathan Kuminga Would Like To See 1 Warriors Star Host The ESPYS
