Week 10’s Thursday night NFL matchup wasn’t exactly an attractive one for fans at large, as it featured two sub-.500 teams in the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers.
The Falcons were 4-5 and clinging to the hope of claiming the NFC’s last Wild Card spot, while the Panthers have clearly already given up on their season and have hit the proverbial reset button.
But on Thursday in Charlotte, N.C., the Panthers asserted themselves and got a rare win by outlasting Atlanta, 25-15, improving their record to 3-7.
Carolina quarterback P.J. Walker didn’t have the greatest performance, as he didn’t throw any touchdown passes, while Falcons signal-caller Marcus Mariota went 19 of 30 and connected on two touchdown passes.
But a win is a win, and Panthers fans are happy, at least for the time being.
The fan enjoys the fact that Carolina has had plenty of success this year versus teams from the NFC South.

This former player loved the black uniforms that the Panthers wore for Thursday’s game.
These fricking @Panthers uniforms are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!

The fan, on the other hand, feels that this win was empty because it was essentially meaningless.

An Ugly Win, But A Good Win
Carolina only managed 108 receiving yards for the game, but its defense came through for it to seal the victory, especially in crunch time.

Offensively, running back D’Onta Foreman carried the load with 130 rushing yards and one touchdown on 31 carries.
He came into this contest with just 296 rushing yards and three touchdowns through his first nine games of the season.
The Panthers are clearly building for the future, but every win is a stepping stone to a better tomorrow, not to mention a good way to evaluate their young players and build up their confidence.
