This year, the Major League Baseball offseason has been in the spotlight thanks to a talented free agent class.
While many top players are beginning to sign with new teams, there also are trades involving some of the league’s best players.
Juan Soto, the top free agent this offseason, recently signed a 15-year deal with the New York Mets worth $765 million.
While that historic deal has stolen most of the spotlight, a big trade involving the Chicago Cubs and the Houston Astros was completed.
According to FOX Sports: MLB, the Cubs acquired outfielder Kyle Tucker from the Astros in exchange for two infielders and a pitcher.

As an Astros fan I’m sad to see Tucker go but I also feel like we just got better

Fans of the Cubs and the Astros felt like they got the better end of the deal, while others felt both teams improved.
Tucker debuted with the Astros in 2018 and has played all seven seasons of his career with them.
After four consecutive solid seasons, Tucker cemented himself as one of the league’s best players.
In 2024, Tucker was limited to 78 games due to injuries but batted .289 with 23 home runs, 49 RBIs and a .993 OPS.
The Cubs have missed the postseason for four straight seasons, but they added a new weapon to their offense for the 2025 season in the trade, third baseman Isaac Paredes.
Tucker now will help the Cubs attempt to win their first NL Central title since the shortened 2020 season.
