The Seattle Seahawks didn’t look good at all during their season opener.
They struggled to get anything going offensively against the Los Angeles Rams, with Aaron Donald wreaking havoc on their offensive line on almost every snap.
But the one that looked worse was star WR D.K. Metcalf, who had a dirty hit on Rams DB Ahkello Witherspoon late in the game.
With the Rams leading 27-13 at that point and the game almost out of reach, Metcalf shoved Witherspoon to the ground, up to the point where he even had to be examined by trainers before heading to the sideline.
Notably, this all happened after the ball had been caught, which is why several fans took to Twitter to call him out for this (via Dov Kleiman).

HC Sean McVay was livid and Metcalf started yapping at the Rams’ sideline, eventually getting a taunting penalty.
Following the game, Metcalf claimed that he was just blocking, adding that Witherspoon probably got mad because he felt like he was blocking him in the back.
Truth be told, Metcalf could’ve been called for a blindside block on Witherspoon, and even though we don’t know if they had been talking trash to each other or whatnot, it simply wasn’t a good look for the Seahawks wideout.
The Seahawks were expected to win this game without much trouble, but their offense failed to shake off the rust.
Now, they’ll be in for an even tougher challenge, as they’ll have to face the inspired Detroit Lions in Week 2.
