The Detroit Lions returned a key member of their 2023 NFC championship-contending team after offensive coordinator Ben Johnson announced he wouldn’t take a head coaching job this offseason.
While many teams reportedly looked at hiring the young coach for the second consecutive offseason, Johnson once again chose to stay in Detroit in an attempt to compete for another title with one of the most talented offensive rosters in the NFL.
One of the Lions’ biggest fans, rapper Eminem, posted his excitement on social media.
“Guess I should stop recording this diss track,” Eminem wrote. “… Ben Johnson Thank you for staying!!! We can’t break this team up ESPECIALLY since I’M on it!!! Coach Campbell we love you bro!!! Let’s run it back next year!!…I’m READY!!!! I promise you I WILL get us to the super bowl!!!”

Eminem, who’s real name is Marshall Mathers, grew up in Detroit and has been an avid Lions fan for awhile.
He even attended the Lions’ playoff games, including the NFC title game in Santa Clara, California.
Now that Johnson is back, the Lions should be in the running not just to repeat as NFC North champions but also to return to the conference title game.
Detroit led for the entire first half and much of the third quarter before the 49ers were able to crawl back and win the game in the fourth quarter to advance to their second Super Bowl since 2019.
The Lions missed out on a chance to win their first-ever Super Bowl this year, but now have a quality roster for 2024 with their best coaches back in the fold.
