Sunday could mark a defining day in New England Patriots’ history.
The heir apparent, Drake Maye, was finally appointed as the starting quarterback.
When asked about that, the UNC product talked about how humbled he felt over the opportunity, adding that it’s the kind of thing everybody dreams of.
He stated that he was excited about getting the opportunity to prepare as a starter for the entire week.

It won’t be an easy task at all, though.
Maye will get his first career start at home, but the Patriots will host the red-hot Houston Texans, one of the best teams in the AFC and the entire league.
HC DeMeco Ryans knows a thing or two about defense, and he’ll know how to put some pressure on the No. 3 pick.
Maye has the athleticism, size, speed, and strength to be an elite quarterback in the National Football League.
However, his decision-making, accuracy, footwork, mechanics, and lack of experience made most scouts think of him as someone who would benefit from spending one year on the sidelines.
Also, the Patriots’ struggling offensive line and unimpressive wide receivers corps make it seem as if he was better off sitting instead of getting exposed.
Then again, Jerod Mayo recently claimed that he felt like he had made great strides since training camp and that he would give the team the best chance to compete going forward.
Hopefully, that’ll be the case, as we’ve seen several promising players struggle after being thrown into the fire when they weren’t ready.
