When he was acquired in the offseason, fans of the Cleveland Cavaliers were very hopeful that Donovan Mitchell would fit in with the team.
Based on the accomplishments he had with the Utah Jazz, everyone knew he could do incredible things for the Cavaliers.
Sure enough, he has.
Not only is the team doing better than it has in years, but Mitchell has made history with the team – again.
According to StatMuse, Mitchell’s 205 three-pointers are the most by any Cavaliers player in a single season.

This is just the latest huge thing he has done for his new team.
Earlier this season, he set a franchise record with 71 points in a single game.
For the season, Mitchell is averaging 27.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.7 assists a game on 47.7% from the field.
He is landing 3.6 of his 9.4 three-point attempts per game, which is the highest of his career, although his three-point percentage is slightly down from his career-high of 2020-21.
While you can judge Mitchell’s importance to the team because of the number of threes he’s made, his impact in Cleveland is about so much more than that.
Mitchell is not only the most influential player on the roster, but he is also a team leader who holds everything together, makes plays, and is able to work well with all of his teammates.
The Cavaliers are the fourth-best team in their conference and have a good chance at a really good run in the playoffs for the first time in years.
There is no doubt that Mitchell is a big part of that.
