If you are talking about the biggest success stories of the 2022-23 NBA season, you have to speak about the Sacramento Kings.
And if you are talking about the Kings, you have to speak about Domantas Sabonis.
The 26-year-old big man is now playing his first full season for the Kings and it’s been an incredible one.
As noted by Basketball Forever, Sabonis is leading his team in minutes, rebounds, assists, and blocks per game.
He is also second only to Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets when it comes to triple-doubles this season.
If that wasn’t enough, Sabois has the most 20-point/20-rebound games this season and is one of the main reasons why Sacramento is second in the West.
Oh, and he’s done all of this while nursing a broken hand.
Sacramento's Saviour Sabonis 👑:
🔸 Leads the team in MPG, RPG, APG & BPG
🔸 Only 2nd to Jokic in Triple-Doubles this season
🔸 Most 20 PT/20 REB games this season
🔸 Kings have their most wins in a season in over a decade
🔸 Main reason why the team will break their 16-year… https://t.co/ehC0i3SSXT pic.twitter.com/gRNzcIQKml

For the season, Sabonis is averaging 19 points, 12.6 rebounds, and 7.1 assists.
By the way, he leads the league in rebounds.
When he was traded to the Kings last season, numerous people thought that he would be the best player on a middling team.
But with the slew of reinforcements who have come to Sacramento lately, the Kings are far from middling.
There are other great stars like De’Aaron Fox, Keegan Murray, Malik Monk, Kevin Huerter, and others who are doing terrific things.
But at the center of it all is Sabonis, who is now playing in his seventh season in the NBA.
The big question is what Sabonis can do in the postseason.
He has had a few runs in the playoffs before with the Oklahoma City Thunder and Indiana Pacers but those teams pale in comparison to the Kings.
Will his terrific regular season transition into a wonderful postseason?
