Los Angeles Dodgers‘ young prospect Gavin Lux hasn’t played since Monday because of a bothersome injury.
His back hasn’t been feeling sharp enough for him to take the field.
Yesterday, Cody Bellinger, who was supposed to have a day off, was called upon to replace Lux in the lineup.
He isn’t present in the lineup on Wednesday, either.
However, there is some good news to report about the player this afternoon.
“Dave Roberts said he expects Gavin Lux in the lineup on Friday. His back felt better moving around today,” The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya, who covers the Dodgers, tweeted.

Over that last two seasons, Lux has received many opportunities to seize an everyday job with the Dodgers.
However, he hasn’t been able to produce like he did in the minor leagues.
Lux Appears To Be On The Verge Of A Breakout In 2022
In the early stages of the 2022 season, however, Lux appeared on the verge of breaking out, at least until the back issue took him out of the lineup.
To this point, he has accumulated a .276 average, with nine runs, one homer, five RBI, two steals, and a rock-solid .888 OPS.
Sooner or later, the Dodgers end up developing their players into stars or, at least, reliable contributors, so it was highly unlikely that Lux would be the exception.
He still has a long way to go if he wants to prove he belongs as a star in MLB, but he is very much eager to show his worth in 2022 as a much more mature player.
To reach his considerable ceiling, however, he will need health on his side.
Here is hoping he can quickly overcome his back injury and return to his dominating ways.
