Dirk Nowitzki is a Dallas Mavericks legend and one of the greatest and most acclaimed basketball stars of all time.
But that doesn’t mean much to his children apparently.
Speaking to the press, via FOX 4 Sports, Nowitzki talked about how unimpressed his kids are by his success.
They frankly criticize the way that he plays.
“All they know is ‘Papa, you were so slow,’ then I gotta go to YouTube,” Nowitzki said.
He fires up old clips of himself playing but according to him, they look grainy and still don’t get his kids excited.

Someday, Nowitzki’s children will hopefully understand just how special their father is.
During his time in the league, the big man averaged 20.7 points and 7.5 rebounds with a 47.1% field goal percentage.
That’s 21 years of double-digits every night.
Because of that, he was a 14-time All-Star, 2006-07 MVP, and a champion in 2011.
Nowitzki was also admitted to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team and is about to be entered into the Hall of Fame too.
But his kids are right: he did move somewhat slowly compared to other players.
That was all part of his unique style.
The way that he moved and shot the ball was certainly something different for the league when he first joined in 1999.
Yet, as he found so much success, his style became much more accepted – and then mimicked.
However, no one could ever move, shoot, and pass like Nowitzki.
He has been out of the league for years now but his impact on it is still felt.
He has cemented a place in league history as one the greatest big men of all time, no matter what his children think.
