The 2023-24 season will be a bit of a farewell tour for a Los Angeles Clippers player.
Nicolas Batum might not be a fan favorite in the U.S., but he’s had a very decent career in the league, and is one of the most beloved and respected members of the French national team.
That’s why he intends to represent his country one more time in the 2024 Olympics before calling it a career and riding into the sunset, according to Eurohoops (via NBA Central).

Batum was the No. 25 pick of the 2008 NBA Draft, taken by the Houston Rockets and immediately traded to the Portland Trail Blazers.
He spent seven years in Portland and then signed a very lucrative deal with the Charlotte Hornets.
He wasn’t always able to live up to that contract, either because of injuries or because of the fact that the Hornets were far from competitive.
Batum later took his talents to the Clippers, and he’s been quite a steady contributor as a rotation piece since 2020.
However, most of his success has come with the national team, as he’s won a gold medal in the U-18 European championship, three medals in Eurobasket (one gold, one silver, one bronze), two bronze medals in the FIBA World Cup.
