Future Hall of Fame point guard Chris Paul is starting anew this season after being traded to the Golden State Warriors during the offseason, and he is hoping this will be the setup that finally gets him his first NBA championship ring.
He is joining the dynastic trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green, a threesome that has won four world titles over the previous nine seasons and can use the type of help Paul seems capable of providing.
Paul says that in particular, he is in awe of Thompson and his lethal shooting.

Thompson is going into his 11th season, and although he may not be exactly the player he was prior to his ACL and Achilles a few years ago, he is still one of the most dangerous outside shooters in basketball.
Last season, he seemed to get his mojo back, shooting 41.2 percent from 3-point range and averaging 21.9 points per game.
Thompson has a history of coming up big in very important playoff games, and it is something an aging Warriors team may need more than ever this season.
Paul is 38 years of age, and his offensive production has been in decline over the past year or two, so there may be times when Thompson and Curry will need to carry him.
This may be the last chance for Paul, as well as for the Warriors, to win a ring, and it will be difficult for them to do so given how much better the Western Conference will be this year.
