The postseason is rapidly approaching and there is little doubt that the Chicago Bulls will be a part of it.
Chicago has had a great season and is far, far better than they have been in recent years.
It’s true that they’re not playing as well as they were earlier this year but they’re still competitive and sitting at the fifth seed in the East.
However, when it comes to battling against the top teams in each conference, the Bulls aren’t just bad, they’re downright horrid.
Record vs top 3 teams from each conference:
1. Raptors (10-5)
2. Celtics (9-5)
3. Timberwolves (9-7)
4. Bucks (6-5)
5. Nuggets (8-7)
—————
26. Kings (2-12)
27. Pistons (2-13)
28. Magic (1-15)
29. Rockets (1-16)

Statmuse has compiled the records of NBA teams versus the top three teams from each conference.
The Toronto Raptors have gone 10-5 against the top three teams in the West and East while the Boston Celtics have gone 9-5.
Meanwhile, other teams like the Sacramento Kings are only 2-12 and the Houston Rockets are 1-16.
As for the Bulls, they are a jaw-dropping 0-16 when playing against the top three in each conference.
How can they possibly make the Finals with that record?
Dashed Hopes
Earlier in the season, many Chicago fans thought the Bulls were headed straight to the Finals.
There was a time when they were the top seed in the East and seemed unbeatable.
Those days are gone, sadly.
There is simply not much of a chance of making the Finals if they can’t beat the top teams in the league.
The only way they could make it happen is if those top teams are somehow defeated before the end of the playoffs.
But what are the chances of that happening?
Chicago is still a supremely talented team and fans shouldn’t give up on their dreams of winning the season.
But they will need to do a lot of work in the next few weeks and figure out why these top teams are their Kryptonite.
