The wait is over for Buffalo Bills fans.
The team made the announcement for the new name of their new stadium, which won’t be new at all.
Instead, the new facility will have the very same name as their old one, with team owner Terry Pegula confirming the rumors of it being called Highmark Stadium as well.
Shortly after their groundbreaking ceremony, the team shared a clip on Twitter to get their fans hyped up about their new home.

Pegula added that they already have a naming rights deal to keep the Highmark Stadium name for years to come.
The Bills’ stadium was formerly known as Rich Stadium, then Ralph Wilson Stadium, and then New Era Field.
Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Western New York acquired the naming rights back in 2021 for a 10-year deal, so one could expect this deal to run through the very same year.
The franchise made it a point of emphasis to have some continuity for culture-building purposes, which is why they didn’t choose to give the new stadium a different name to differentiate between the previous and current facilities.
Notably, the new stadium is expected to open its doors for the 2026 NFL season.
The Bills have knocked on the door of a Super Bowl for the past couple of years, and they’re expected to be one of the biggest powerhouses in the league next season again, so maybe they’ll have a very bright banner to hang once their new home is ready to open.
