Baker Mayfield led a fourth-quarter comeback to cap off an impressive night, which included a long run on fourth down to extend the game and help the Buccaneers come away with a win.
Mayfield was discussed a lot on social media during this game, as fans noted that he continues to trash-talk his opponents on the field, even when he might be slightly banged up.
One of the players that he talked a lot of trash to was C.J. Gardner-Johnson, which he mentioned during a postgame presser, per “The Pewter Plank” on X.

For whatever reason, Mayfield and Gardner-Johnson could have some off-field issues that led to this interaction, so it will be interesting to see if anything else comes of this conversation.
Regardless of what’s going on between these two, the Buccaneers ultimately got the last laugh in this game, coming away with a win and securing a 2-0 record.
There were mixed reviews about the Buccaneers entering the season, as people were unsure what to make of them and whether they’d repeat as NFC South champions.
They have looked the part to this point, and with their offense having several great options to turn to at a moment’s notice, including new wideout Emeka Egbuka, there are a lot of positive aspects about the Buccaneers moving forward.
