With a ton of quarterback talent at the top of this upcoming NFL Draft, the teams atop the draft that don’t need quarterbacks are in a prime position to trade down.
The top 3 might be set with 3 quarterbacks going off the board, but recent rumors suggest there might be even more teams looking to move up to the top 5 for QBs, perhaps having National Champion J.J. McCarthy or Heisman finalist Bo Nix on their minds.
Trevor Sikkema of PFF went on the Dan Patrick Show and said that the Los Angeles Chargers are a “prime candidate at No. 5 to move back in the draft.”
"I think they are a prime candidate at #5 to move back in the draft."

With so many quarterbacks pushing the talent at other positions down the board, the Chargers could have the opportunity to move down a few spots and still land one of the draft’s highly-coveted receivers such as LSU’s Malik Nabers or Washington’s Rome Odunze.
Legendary tight end prospect Brock Bowers out of Georgia could also be in the mix for them.
The Chargers have emptied their wide receiver room this week by cutting Mike Williams and trading Keenan Allen to the Bears, so every mock draft is going to be linking them to one of the high-profile receivers projected to come off the board early.
No. 5 is a perfect spot for the Chargers to trade down from because the Giants at No. 6 are surely wondering if a quarterback is the move, with Daniel Jones continuing to disappoint.
QB-needy teams such as the Vikings or Raiders would be wise to jump the Giants at 6 to go get their franchise quarterback.
