Despite finishing the 2022 NFL season with 10 straight losses, the Chicago Bears seemed to be a team that might be figuring things out, with versatile quarterback Justin Fields turning into a star and potentially the new face of the franchise in the Windy City.
With Fields giving the Bears reason for optimism coming into the 2023 campaign, Chicago was a team expected to turn things around this season, but so far, things have not gone as planned.
Chicago has lost the first two games of the season and hasn’t seemed to improve in any way, shape, or form, with Fields starting to look more like a bust than a star in the making.
With the Bears looking like they could be the worst team in the league right now, Craig Carton of FOX Sports believes that Chicago is already done for the year and that Fields is far from the real deal under center, via “The Carton Show.”
"The Bears are done. Justin Fields is a bad quarterback and he's not getting better any time soon."

As Carton points out, the Bears are a dysfunctional organization that hasn’t been able to get anything right for quite some time, and this year is no different, as the team may have gotten it wrong with Fields.
During the NFL offseason, Chicago had the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, but due to their faith in Fields, they chose to trade it to the Carolina Panthers, who ultimately brought in Alabama quarterback Bryce Young.
The Bears brass might be regretting that move only two weeks into the season, but there’s still plenty of time to turn things around.
