Caleb Williams was faced with a lot of external pressure heading into the 2024 NFL season.
Like it or not, the fanbase was counting on him to succeed, considering that the organization has never had a 4,000-yard passer in a single season.
Williams was brought in to be the future of the franchise, the face of the Bears for the foreseeable future.
While it was rocky at first, Williams is starting to prove that he belongs here and that he was worthy of being the No. 1 overall pick.
He has led the team to a 4-3 record through seven games, which could be viewed as a success.
However, some fans and analysts believe it could be better, including Patrick Morenzoni and Shea Norling, who broke down the Bears’ biggest problems on ESPN Chicago.
“Ryan Poles failed Caleb Williams,” Morenzoni said, adding, “I saw Caleb Williams not have the time to get the football to” his top receivers.
You can't be mad at @ChicagoBears O-line at this point..it falls on Ryan Poles

Williams has proven to play well in high-pressure situations, but even the best quarterbacks cannot escape poor offensive line play.
Morenzoni believes that a lot of the blame for the shortcomings that Williams has experienced can be placed upon Poles.
Having a solid offensive line is key to offensive success, and it is evident that Williams needs more time in the pocket.
His receivers might get open, but if he can’t get them the ball in time, it’s a moot point.
Morenzoni hopes the team finds a solution soon, otherwise their future face of the franchise could be down and out before he has a chance to show what he can do.
