The Boston Red Sox are not having the season many people in their organization had hoped for.
With a record of 74-72 on the year, the Red Sox will not be in the playoffs.
For one of the most popular teams in baseball, the Red Sox have underachieved in recent years.
Part of the problem is that the Red Sox front office has let the team down.
Chaim Bloom has been the lead man in Boston since 2019.
But the team has underachieved in three of his four seasons.
Only making the playoffs one time in his tenure is not good enough.
That is why Boston fired Bloom on Thursday.
Many moves from Bloom led to his eventual demise.
According to Jordan Moore, three key moves are what have Bloom walking out the door.
Trading Mookie Betts for a small return and letting Xander Bogaerts walk in free agency are significant factors in the team’s failure.
Just some things that happened during Chaim Bloom’s time with the Red Sox:

Betts might go down as one of the best players in Red Sox history.
He won an MVP with them and made numerous All-Star teams.
Trading him was a mistake and the Red Sox have seemingly never recovered.
Betts has continued to flourish in Los Angeles, while the players the Red Sox got back for him have been average.
As for Bogaerts, he is not having a great season in San Diego.
But he was the heart and soul of the Red Sox.
At some point, you need to see positive results on the field.
The Red Sox were not able to do that in Bloom’s tenure.
