NBA fans are still reeling from some massive trades over the last few days.
The San Antonio Spurs made a move to acquire De’Aaron Fox, a move that should help them in the short and long term, but that isn’t the trade that people are talking about.
The Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks made one of the biggest trades in league history, with Luka Doncic going to the Lakers, and Anthony Davis to the Mavericks, along with several other pieces.
Teams around the league were stunned, as nobody seemed to know that Doncic was on the block.
If they knew they could acquire him for this inexpensive a price, the Mavericks might have gotten a bigger haul in this deal.
However, the Mavericks did what they felt was the right thing to do, and now fans are anxiously waiting to see how this trade turns out.
While this was viewed as a questionable decision by Mavericks fans, people on the Lakers side are beyond excited to have Doncic in the fold.
Many believe he’ll be a great complement alongside LeBron James, potentially being the catalyst for the Lakers to make a deep postseason run.
Analysts have mostly taken the Lakers’ side, including Jalen Rose, who said, “Rob Pelinka might get a statue now” in a recent NBA TV clip.

Pelinka has had his ups and downs in the Lakers’ front office, but this move might make fans reconsider their opinion of him, especially if they win a championship in the next few years.
