Nearly all NBA fans agree that the New Orleans Pelicans could be a real force in the West if their lead star Zion Williamson remains healthy.
Even Williamson knows his team has something special.
In a video from League Alerts, via NBACentral, Williamson talked about the first time he, CJ McCollum, and Brandon Ingram played together.

It is clear that Williamson really believes in what McCollum, Ingram, and himself are capable of.
No one is arguing that the Pelicans aren’t talented.
Williamson has serious physical might, McCollum has great experience and a high basketball IQ, and Ingram has turned into a quiet and strong leader on both ends of the court.
Plus, the Pelicans also have a slew of other up-and-comers who are looking to make an impact.
But they aren’t able to really capitalize on all of that talent because Williamson has continually been hurt over the last few seasons.
He sat out of 2021-22 entirely because of a nagging foot injury that wouldn’t go away.
He returned in 2022-23 and hopes were high.
But Williamson only played in 29 games before again being sidelined for the rest of the season.
When Williamson was playing, the Pelicans were great and actually climbed to the top of the West.
Without him, things once again fell apart.
Will the new season be the one when this trio is finally able to perform as a cohesive unit?
