Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans is back and the NBA is all the better because of that.
There are few players like Williamson, with his massive build and immense skill, and his ability to find other players – and the basket – with ease and tremendous power.
On Wednesday night, Williamson and his Pelicans faced off against the Los Angeles Lakers and ended up falling 120-117 in a wild overtime game, perhaps the best game of the year so far.
Williamson didn’t walk away with the victory but he did walk away with some very kind words.
"Zion is on the verge of being great, and he's going to be great in this league for a long time…"

None other than LeBron James spoke very highly of Williamson following the game.
“Zion is on the verge of being great,” James said in the post-game press conference.
He continued, “He’s going to be great in this league for a long time.”
That is all music to the ears of Pelicans fans – especially the part about Williamson playing for a long time because there has been some doubt about that in the past.
The King Handing Over The Crown
James has played against Williamson four times now – and has beaten him every time.
During those games, James has seen the young man evolve and enhance his game.
He has also seen him overcome a lot of injuries and remain a fearsome and wonderfully talented star.
James isn’t the only one predicting Williamson could be a major part of the league for a very long time.
When he was first drafted, some people said that Williamson could become the biggest star in the world within a few years.
Injuries got in the way of that but those seem to be behind him now and he’s able to once again focus on claiming this spot at the top of the NBA standings.
