He’s one of the most intimidating, ferocious, and powerful young players in the league but some nasty injuries have continually kept him from reaching his full potential.
And rumors have plagued Williamson pretty much since day one.
Does he have what it takes to play in the NBA?
Does he really want to play in New Orleans?
These questions swirl around Williamson constantly – and he’s getting sick of it.

Williamson recently made his intentions perfectly clear, saying, “I do want to be here. That’s no secret.”
This confirmation that Williamson wants to stay in New Orleans is great news for fans of the Pelicans – and suggests that next year could be something truly special.
On The Wrong Foot
Williamson suffered a foot injury during last year’s offseason, leading to surgery and an absence for the entire season.
Many people expected that to ruin the Pelicans’ chances of doing anything productive during the year.
That certainly wasn’t the case.
Because of the hard work of Brandon Ingram, Jonas Valanciunas, Herbert Jones, CJ McCollum, and others, the Pelicans were able to not only make the playoffs but actually cause some serious headaches for the Phoenix Suns.
All of this showed great promise – and made fans wonder how much better they’d be with Williamson on the floor too.
The Pelicans did wonderfully even without Williamson so the news of him wanting to stick around means their stock is only on the rise.
A fired-up, healthy Williamson with the Pelicans is reason enough to be excited for the next NBA season.
