The New York Jets have been looking for their next franchise quarterback for many years.
Many are hopeful the answer to all of their problems is Zach Wilson.
The second-year QB made his season debut in Week 4 and the Jets are undefeated with him under center.
But, the competition they have played has been less than stellar.
In Week 4, they faced the Pittsburgh Steelers who might be the worst team in football.
Wilson struggled in the game completing 50% of his passes for 252 yards and two interceptions.
But, he did throw one touchdown and caught a TD.
He also rallied his team from down 20-10 in the fourth quarter to win the game.
Then in Week 5, Wilson beat the undermanned Miami Dolphins.
Miami played their third-string QB in the game and had injuries all over their defense.
But, the young QB helped lead his offense to their best game of the season scoring 40 points.

Despite all of that, Wilson has led his team to 2-0.
Including the first back-to-back wins of his NFL career.
But, his toughest test of the season is coming up in Week 6.
The Jets travel to Green Bay to face the Packers.
If Wilson is for real, this is a great opportunity to prove it.
He has an opportunity to go throw for throw with Aaron Rodgers on Sunday and give the Jets a chance to win.
Beating up on bad or injured teams can only get you so far.
Being the second-overall pick playing in New York has brought high expectations to Wilson.
Last season, Wilson was not very good.
His nine touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 2021 leave a lot to be desired.
This week is a great chance to prove that he can be the new face of the Jets.
Draft-Class Comparisons
NFL QBs drafted in the same draft class each year will always be compared to each other.
Even though these quarterbacks go to different situations with different coaches, people will still compare them as if everything is even.
For Wilson, he went into a tough situation with the Jets.
They have not been good for years and have shown no real ability to develop young QBs.
Robert Salah is the head coach in New York and he is a former defensive coordinator.
Nothing about this situation has been perfect for Wilson except his weapons.
The Jets have done a good job of rebuilding their offense around Wilson.
Elijah Moore, Garrett Wilson, and Breece Hall were all high draft picks by the team within the past two years.
That was very similar to what we saw in Jacksonville with Trevor Lawrence.
The 2021 draft class featured Lawrence, Wilson, Trey Lance, Justin Fields, and Mac Jones all in the first round.
Trevor Lawrence’s #Jaguars: 2-3
Justin Fields’ #Bears: 2-3
Davis Mills’ #Texans: 1-3-1
Mac Jones’ #Patriots: 2-3 (1-2 with him as starter)
Zach Wilson’s #Jets: 3-2 (2-0 with him as starter)

Jones is the only one to make the playoffs, but Lawrence and Wilson seem to have the highest upside.
The face of the Jets has a chance to put his mark on the league with an impressive performance against the Packers.
If he can do that it might not be long before people are considering him the best QB in the 2021 draft class.
