The Houston Rockets currently have the worst record in the NBA right now after 9 games.
This isn’t too surprising, fans knew that this season was going to be a rough one.
Instead of trying to secure a lot of wins, the team is attempting to build its young roster and its future, including Jalen Green, who could be one of the best players in the league over the next few years.
Last year, his rookie season, Green scored 17.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.6 per game.
This year, he’s putting up 19.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2 assists.
Jalen Green is shooting 8.7% from mid range on 2.9 attempts per game this season.

However, when you dig into his numbers you see that Green is really struggling from a certain part of the court.
Green is shooting at only 8.7% from mid-range on 2.9 attempts per game this season, which is the worst percentage in the entire league.
While the Rockets’ track record isn’t surprising, seeing Green do so poorly from mid-range is shocking because he was shooting 45.5% on 2.3 from mid-range last season after the All-Star break.
This makes one thing clear: Green is in a slump.
But the good news is that he can climb out of this rut.
Green Growing
Green is definitely part of the Rockets’ future.
Between him and Kevin Porter Jr, there is a lot of promise for Houston – it just won’t allow them to be winning many games for a while.
The hope is that Green is part of the foundation for the future that will attract other stars or perhaps garner some high draft picks.
This is only Green’s second season in the league, so a few rough patches here and there are to be expected as he adjusts and becomes more comfortable playing at such a high level.
