Father’s Day was an unforgettable moment for a few budding stars in MLB.
Some young players hit their first career home runs yesterday in the middle of the Father’s Day celebrations.
“Jerar Encarnación, Óscar González, Buddy Kennedy & J.J. Matijevic each hit 1st career HR today. That’s tied for the 3rd-most 1st career HR hit on a single day. It’s the most since 6/24/17: Matt Olson, Jaycob Brugman, Franklin Barreto, Ben Lively (1st 3 in same game off same P!),” MLB stats guru Sarah Langs tweeted.

Encarnacion, who was called up by the Miami Marlins before Sunday’s game, hit a grand slam, threw out a runner at third base, and also stole a base.
It was a debut for the ages.
Marlins ace Sandy Alcantara had told him that if he hit a homer, he would buy him something.
Encarnacion delivered his part of the deal; now we will see in the upcoming days if Alcantara delivers his.
Important Homers To Secure Victories
Oscar Gonzalez took Los Angeles Dodgers starter Andrew Heaney deep for his first career homer and secured the Cleveland Guardians’ 5-3 victory.
Buddy Kennedy also homered for the first time in his career for the Arizona Diamondbacks, winners of Sunday’s showdown against the Minnesota Twins, 7-1.
It was a grand slam off Caleb Thielbar, and it propelled his team to the victory.
Last, but not least, J.J. Matijevic made sure the Houston Astros defeated the Chicago White Sox in the evening game.
He took talented right-hander Michael Kopech deep in the fourth inning, and the run was the difference, as the Astros topped the Pale Hose, 4-3.
It was an incredible day to hit first career MLB home runs for these young studs.
