The Houston Astros once again find themselves in the World Series and with a chance to take home another World Series title.
Their epic run began in the ALDS, when they battled back twice against the Seattle Mariners in the first two games thanks to heroics from none other than Yordan Alvarez.
Unfortunately for the Astros, Alvarez has not been the same hitter since the ALDS.
In fact, since Game 2 of that series, he is slashing just .125/.282/.188 with two doubles, five walks, and 12 strikeouts in his last 39 plate appearances.
And his bat, like so many others for the Astros, was absent in their 7-0 Game 3 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies.

Alvarez’s Forgettable Postseason
If the Astros are going to come back and win this series, they’ll need the offense to wake up, including Alvarez.
His bat has gone missing since the ALDS.
The Astros now find themselves trailing the World Series, 2-1, and in need of a win in order to get the series back to Houston for at least a Game 6.
In the postseason as a whole, Alvarez is hitting just .200 in 40 at-bats.
His two home runs both came in the ALDS, and he has only driven in nine runs.
He went 0-for-4 in Game 3 last night as the Astros were held scoreless by Ranger Suarez and the Phillies bullpen.
But if Alvarez can heat up again, the Astros offense will become a force to be reckoned with as they try to claw their way back into the series and avoid falling behind 3-1.
