The New York Yankees have made some big moves this offseason to strengthen their ballclub and attempt to make a run to the World Series.
Their biggest move was the signing of veteran left-hander and ace Carlos Rodon, who they brought in on a six-year, $162 million deal.
But the team decided to take a chance on another pitcher late on Wednesday.
Right-handed pitcher Gray Fenter signed a minor league deal with the Yankees.
The 27-year-old has spent time in the San Francisco Giants and Baltimore Orioles organizations and pitched for the Lancaster Barnstormers, an affiliate of the Miami Marlins, last season, posting a 2.95 ERA in 21.3 innings of work and striking out 32 batters.

This could prove to be a solid depth move for the Yankees as they look to add some pitchers.
Fenter’s minor league stats are pretty impressive and could potentially pave the way for a promotion at some point in the future.
Perhaps the Yankees could get a look at the young right-hander in spring training and see what he can bring to the team.
Pitchers and catchers competing in the World Baseball Classic will report to camp on Monday, February 13, one day after the completion of the Super Bowl.
So it won’t be long before spring training gets underway and the Yankees get the opportunity to see what they have with the young right-hander.
The 27-year-old was drafted by the Orioles in the seventh round in 2015.
He owns a career 3.93 ERA in 113 performances and has amassed a total of 22 wins as a pitcher.
