Just a couple of days ago, Miami Marlins starter and reigning Cy Young award winner Sandy Alcantara received a high honor.
He got the keys to the city of Miami as a way to recognize him for the spectacular season he just had.
New York Yankees star Aaron Judge is getting the same recognition.
According to what Mayor Eric Adams told reporter Juliet Papa, Judge will receive the key of New York City.

It’s a nice way to show him that the whole city (well, at least a big part of it considering the New York Mets also play in town) is grateful for the wonderful moments Judge gifted fans all over the world.
Judge won his first American League MVP award after coming in close in 2017.
Most importantly, he broke an old American League record: most home runs in a season, previously held by Roger Maris.
With 62 round-trippers in 2022, Judge is the new home run king in the junior circuit and in the eyes of many, in all of baseball (his 62 homers are the most by a player not linked to steroids use).
Judge also came very, very close to winning the hitting Triple Crown in the American League.
He led the circuit in homers and RBI, but finished second in batting average trailing Minnesota Twins infielder Luis Arraez.
All things considered, that key Judge will receive is also a symbol of his decision to stay in New York for the next nine years.
“Thanks for staying. Here is the key to your city”.
Fitting.
