The New York Yankees are rolling right now.
They are off to their best start since 1998 and have won 27 out of their first 36 games.
That has catapulted them to the best record in all of baseball and has them looking like a team that is dead set on chasing down World Series title No. 28.
The bats are booming, the staff is pitching well, and things are going great in the Bronx.
Tonight, as they take the field for Game 3 of their four-game set against the Baltimore Orioles, they have a chance to make a little bit of history, as Yankees insider Bryan Hoch points out on Twitter.
Tonight the #Yankees look to become just the third team in the Wild Card Era (since 1994) to win 28 of their first 37 games, joining the 1998 Yankees and 2001 Mariners.
The '98 Yankees won 114 games and the World Series. The '01 Mariners won 116 games (lost in ALCS).

Unique History
It’s funny that we mentioned 1998.
They now have a chance to do something they haven’t done since then, when they won 114 games and captured their 24th championship.
That team is one of only two teams to have won 28 of their first 37 games in the Wild Card era, with the other being the 2001 Seattle Mariners.
This Yankees team looks to be built different.
Many people doubted the Bronx Bombers coming into the season, but they appear to have put all of those concerns to rest.
They might just be the real deal in 2022.
There’s no doubt that the history of the Yankees is illustrious and ever-growing.
Good moments continue to take place for this ballclub year in and year out, with this year being no exception, rather more of an exemplification.
With a win tonight, they’ll accomplish the feat of 28 wins in 37 games while also securing a series win against the Orioles.
Wherever the Yankees go, history seems to be right on their tails and here they are with a chance to make some more.
