It’s a good time to be a fan of the New York Yankees.
The team leads MLB in wins, with 47, and has the fewest losses with 16.
They are 9-1 in their last 10 games and also have the best run differential in MLB, with +131.
They also have an incredible home record of 29-7.
The Bombers have won their last 14 games in Yankee Stadium, which is something that didn’t occur since 1961 as FOX Sports MLB reminds us.

As a fun fact, do you want to know what happened in that 1961 season?
Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle started off the season with a personal competition about who hit the most home runs, and Maris ended up prevailing with his 61 (a franchise record).
The Yankees also won the World Series that year.
1961 Was A Cool Year In Yankees History
This time, they have a hitter on pace to smash that 61-homer record in Aaron Judge, who already has 25.
And the Yankees are looking like the favorites to lift the Fall Classic trophy.
Will those things happen again, 61 years later?
It will be one of the most fascinating storylines of the 2022 season.
For now, the Yankees are focused on winning as many games as possible, and are mostly succeeding.
They have had no rivals in the American League East, and the teams that can actually challenge them in a short series can be counted with one hand.
For fans, nothing will matter if they can’t win the trophy, but for now, they deserve to enjoy the Yankees’ current moment.
After all, the team hasn’t looked this solid in quite a while, and 2022 presents a golden opportunity to win the World Series again, something they haven’t done since 2009.

Rod Jones says
I’m 74 and I’ve been a diehard fan since the of Whitey Ford and Yogi Berra,1954. This years Yankees have been a godsend to me. I enjoy following them and watching a game on TV when I can. I am from extreme Northern NY about 35 miles from the St. Lawrence River in St. Lawrence County. Moved to the Rochester area after 4 years in the Air Force(67-71) and went SUNY Canton 71-73 and moved to Indiana in 1982. About 55 minutes from the Reds stadium.. I had to endure the 4-0 sweep in 76 or 77 I think it was surrounded by Reds fans. After the core 4 retired I was afraid I was going to lose my interest in the team but I have to say they sure have keep me rooting.
