After allowing a couple of runs in two innings, New York Yankees starter Jameson Taillon got hit by a comebacker in Tuesday’s game against the Los Angeles Angels.
He had to depart with the trainers, and the Yanks’ bullpen took over.
The Yankees were worried that they would be down yet another starter for a significant amount of time, but it appears that won’t be the case.
“Aaron Boone on whether he expects Jameson Taillon to miss time; ‘Hope not. X-ray’s negative; feeling better already. Started trying to get the swelling out of there. Obviously, [the ball] got him good. We’ll just have to see how the next couple of days unfold,'” ESPN’s Marly Rivera tweeted, quoting the Yankees skipper.

Taillon was officially diagnosed with right forearm contusion.
Being a right-hander, it’s an injury to his throwing arm, so his availability for the next start is in question at the moment.
Taillon Should Be Back Soon And May Make His Next Start
Still, he shouldn’t miss much time since fractures appear to have been ruled out by now.
It’s just a matter of the swelling going down.
He got hit near the wrist area.
If he is able to make his next scheduled starts, he will be taking the ball on Monday, September 5 against the Minnesota Twins.
Taillon has had a solid season, with a 3.97 ERA in 140.2 innings.
He also has a solid 12-4 record, 117 strikeouts, and a 1.12 WHIP for good measure.
He has been healthy for the most part this year, and has been one of the most consistently productive members of the Yanks’ pitching staff.
Losing him would have put New York in an unwanted, uncomfortable situation, but it appears he has dodged a bullet.
