No MLB franchise has been able to match the New York Yankees‘ blistering start to the season.
They are rolling: having won 11 consecutive games, they have established themselves as the premier team in baseball and the leaders of the always tough AL East division.
According to MLB insider Bob Nightengale, there are two franchises who haven’t been able to put together an 11-game winning streak in their history.
“The #Yankees have won 11 consecutive games in the first month of the season; two teams have yet to win 11 consecutive games in their franchise history: the #Nats and #Marlins,” Nightengale tweeted on Wednesday.

Both the Marlins and Nationals have been able to win the World Series, but they don’t know what it’s like to win 11 games in a row.
They are the only two franchises yet to string together that many wins.
The Yankees Are Doing Things The Right Way
More than a knock on these two organizations, it is a way to put what the Yankees are currently doing in perspective.
They didn’t make any major additions over the offseason, while other teams spent tens of millions of dollars.
They re-signed Anthony Rizzo and not much more.
But they have focused on player development and analytics-driven coaches to get the best of their players.
And they have succeeded so far: Gleyber Torres is having a much better season than in 2021, Nestor Cortes Jr. is blossoming into an ace, and the bullpen looks formidable.
They decided to improve what they had rather than bring in costly reinforcements, and at least in the early stages of the year, it’s paying off.
Kudos to the Yankees for embracing a team-wide philosophy and sticking to it.
