The weekend series between the New York Yankees and the Chicago Cubs was eventful.
The Yankees swept the Cubs and outscored them 28-5, showing that they are currently the most dominant team in baseball.
During Saturday’s game, Giancarlo Stanton belted a high drive to center field that looked like a home run.
The center fielder, however, was able to make the catch against the wall.
The Cubs’ Twitter account, one of the most clever and entertaining on the Internet, posted, “Yankees fans think everything is a home run” after their center fielder made the catch.
What came next was one of the most impressive power performances seen in recent memory.
“After this tweet the Yankees hit 9 Home Runs and scored 25 runs over the next 15 innings vs the Cubs.” Bets Stats tweeted.

An Impressive Homer Barrage
Nine home runs in 15 innings is really something to behold, especially in a year in which the ball doesn’t seem to be traveling as far as recent seasons.
Nevertheless, the Yankees offense is on another level in 2022.
After the Cubs jokingly tweeted that, the Yankees proceeded to start their own version of the Home Run Derby against the weak Cubs pitching.
After the series ended, the Yankees’ Twitter account replied to the Cubs’ original tweet and said, “can you blame them?”.
Well, can you?
We are not sure you can blame them for thinking that way when their team is comfortably leading the league in home runs and have MLB’s leader, Aaron Judge, with 24 already.
The Yankees are built around the long ball: their hitters are well-equipped to hit them, and their pitchers don’t allow a lot of them.
That’s a perfect combination for a winning team.
