With Aaron Judge at the forefront in terms of batting average, home runs, and RBI, the Triple Crown is very much in play, which means that if he wins the Triple Crown, the MVP will almost seem to be a lock for the New York Yankees slugger.
Everybody around New York and associated with the Yankees seem to share the popular consensus, which is that Judge will end up being the MVP.
Recently, CC Sabathia was in the news for saying that Shohei Ohtani was the best player in all of baseball.
That drew the ire of some Yankees fans.
But to clear the air, Sabathia, Chris Young, and Cliff Floyd all sported shirts saying that Judge would be the MVP on the front, but that Ohtani was the best player in baseball on the back.

CC Clears The Air
At least Sabathia has cleared the air a little bit.
He understands that this is likely Judge’s year to win the MVP.
At the same time, he’s standing by his statement, but it is nice that he at least understands the importance of what Judge is doing right now.
The 30-year-old slugger is hitting .317 with 60 homers and 128 RBI.
He’s just one homer shy of tying the all-time American League record that was set by Yankee legend Roger Maris back in 1961.
Ohtani is also putting together another MVP-caliber season on the heels of winning the award last year, but even his stats pale in comparison to what Judge has been able to do this year.
As we’ve said before, Judge is the clear favorite to take home the hardware.
But with this T-shirt, Sabathia has the best of both worlds.
He still considers Ohtani the best player, but believes Judge should be the MVP.
