The ALDS starts today with the Seattle Mariners and the Houston Astros getting underway at 3:37 p.m. Eastern Time, and the New York Yankees and Cleveland Guardians starting at 7:37 p.m.
The postseason lights are on, and the playoff atmosphere is in full bloom.
The Yankees will have Gerrit Cole on the mound for the series opener.
It just so happens that a Yankees legend and Hall-of-Famer is in town.
Derek Jeter took a photo of himself riding in the front seat of a car and looking out the window at New York City, tweeting it with the caption, “October in NY just feels right!!!”

Jeter Back In Town
Could this mean that we might see Jeter in attendance or throwing out the first pitch at Yankee Stadium for one or both of the first two games?
That would be a good way to get the crowd excited for the postseason.
The Yankees were eliminated in the Wild Card Game last year, and haven’t actually played a postseason game at home since Game 5 of the 2019 ALCS.
And what better way to celebrate their first postseason home game in a while than to have the one and only Derek Jeter present.
Jeter was a key factor in five World Series Championship runs for the Yankees from 1996-2009.
The crowd would certainly love to see him around the ballpark.
It’s been an exciting year already for the Yankees.
Having Jeter there to kick off the postseason would generate even more excitement.
Maybe he’ll throw out the first pitch tonight or on Thursday, when Game 2 takes place.
At the very least, he’s in New York and he’s ready to experience the playoff atmosphere yet again.
