The Aaron Judge sweepstakes are reaching defining moments.
With reports surfacing that Judge’s destination for the foreseeable future might be decided within the next week, the New York Yankees and San Francisco Giants are fastening their seatbelts.
Judge made his MLB debut in 2016 with the Yankees and proceeded to have historically relevant seasons in 2017 and 2022 with them.
He has celebrated, he has lost, but above all things, he has learned a lot on a diamond and in life while being with the Yankees.
Life, however, currently presents an opportunity to play for the team he rooted for as a kid: the San Francisco Giants.
They really want and need Judge, and have said they won’t be outbid for his services.
Judge Won’t Find A Top Lineup In SF
Filmmaker Randy Wilkins had a hilarious take on Judge’s future after seeing what the Giants’ lineup could look like with the star in the fold.
“Somebody show this to Judge so he can sign with the Yankees by the end of the day,” he tweeted, quoting a tweet with the Giants’ projected lineup if Judge were to sign with them.

Outside of Joc Pederson, there isn’t a single hitter that projects fear into opposing pitchers aside from Judge, of course.
That doesn’t mean the unit is bad and that there aren’t batters who could have good seasons, like JD Davis or Mike Yastrzemski, but it’s certainly worse than the Yankees’ lineup even accounting for their incredibly unproductive second half.
In the Yanks, Judge would be surrounded by Giancarlo Stanton, Anthony Rizzo, Gleyber Torres, DJ LeMahieu, Harrison Bader and a few more great hitters.
Obviously, if the Giants land Judge he probably won’t be their only move to strengthen the offense, but it would be a solid start.
However, comparing offenses will likely result in an edge for New York.
