The New York Yankees lost another close game on Wednesday, this time 3-2 at the hands of the Los Angeles Angels.
Starting pitcher Gerrit Cole tossed seven innings while allowing just two runs, on a Shohei Ohtani home run.
Yet, some people are blaming the loss on him, somehow.
As Twitter user @YankeeWLRD states, Cole is the last person fans should be blaming for this one.
Cole had a quality start and stayed on the mound for seven innings: he allowed the bullpen to rest while keeping the Yanks in the game.
It’s definitely not his fault that the Yankees can’t consistently score runs.
“The Yankees just recorded 2 runs with 3 hits while making 2 errors in the field and there are real people blaming this loss on Gerrit Cole you can’t make it up,” he tweeted.

Misdirected Anger
Cole has a 3.28 ERA this season and has already surpassed 200 strikeouts: he is currently at 204.
He is not having his finest season, but his numbers are very, very good.
He usually keeps the Yankees in games and the numbers back that up.
The offense, on the other hand, has been a serious problem for weeks, even months.
When Aaron Judge isn’t producing, the whole unit struggles to put together rallies.
Defense has also been an issue at times.
The problem is that the Yankees have solutions in the minor leagues and refuse to call them up because they insist on playing Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Josh Donaldson, and Gleyber Torres.
Oswaldo Cabrera, DJ LeMahieu, and Oswald Peraza should be playing every day in those spots: second base, third base, and shortstop, respectively.
That would be a good start to address some of the offensive and fielding issues on the team.
