It’s been quite a year to this point for the New York Yankees.
Many predicted the Toronto Blue Jays to win the American League East in 2022, but right now, there’s a different team atop the division.
That team is the Bronx Bombers, who own the best record in all of baseball at 26-9.
The bats have been booming and the pitching has been lights out.
In fact, the Yankees are even matching some past greatness in the process.
ESPN Stats & Info tweeted that this is the fifth time the Yankees have had a start of 26-9 or better through 35 games and the first since they did it in 1998, a year in which they won 114 games during the regular season on their way to their 24th title.

Yanks Are Legit
This Yankees team is looking like the real deal.
They can do a little bit of everything out there on the baseball field.
The bats are red-hot and so is the pitching staff.
The Yankees’ franchise history is undeniably storied and rich, with each generation seeing its fair share of great teams.
It’s been a while since they were this good though.
But if one looks at what the Yankees are doing now, they can make clear distinctions and see that this team is matching what some of the great Yankee teams of the past have done.
That’s a pretty high bar the Yankees set with those teams and one that seems unattainable at first.
But it’s clear that nothing is unattainable for these Yankees.
This team is loaded with talent and is proving any doubters they had previously wrong.
This might just be the team that takes home title No. 28.
