The clock is ticking.
We’re down to the final two days before the trade deadline, which comes tomorrow at 6 p.m. Eastern Time.
One of many names that has been on the block and floating around in trade rumors is Willson Contreras, one of the last holdovers from the Chicago Cubs 2016 World Series championship team.
The Cubs catcher is increasingly likely to be dealt at some point between now and the official deadline, and it appears that the rumors and speculation are starting to weigh on him a little bit.
Cubs insider Patrick Mooney posted a tweet featuring a quote from Contreras, who says he is ready for all of this to be over.
“I just want this to be over,” Willson Contreras said Sunday night, with less than 48 hours remaining until the trade deadline, after what appeared to be his final game in a Cubs uniform.

Contreras Tired Of Rumors
It’s a stressful time for Contreras.
More than likely, he’ll be traded away from the only organization he’s ever known, a team that he won his first World Series ring with back in 2016.
He was a part of the team that broke the curse in Chicago.
Now, he’s looking at being traded, with rumors flying all around.
He isn’t sure where he’s going to be headed, or if the Cubs end up keeping him around.
Regardless of that though, he’s also a free agent at the end of the season, so his contract status is probably starting to weigh on him as well.
Trade deadline season is always fun for us writers, who get to do all the speculation and share the rumors.
But for the players, it’s heavy stuff.
It’s a lot to handle.
That’s something that gets swept under the rug a little bit, how players feel during deadline season.
You can’t blame Contreras.
It’s hard to stay focused during this time of year, and Contreras is feeling the full effects of all the speculation.
