By all accounts, Trevor Lawrence will be the first overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft happening at the end of this month.
The Clemson quarterback is projected to be selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
21-year-old Lawrence had a decorated college career earning a National Championship and individual honors including ACC Player of the Year (three times).

When his name is called on April 29, will Trevor Lawrence be the next big star of the NFL?
Yes he will and here’s why.
First Overall Pick Is Elevated To Immediate Stardom
No one remembers the second overall pick, but we know who was picked first each year.
In the past five years, Jared Goff, Myles Garrett, Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray, and Joe Burrow became instant household names because their names were announced first in their draft year.
Besides that, Lawrence is a quarterback.
Everyone knows the NFL quarterbacks by name much more so than offensive lineman.
Lawrence Was A College Standout
Like Joe Burrow, Trevor Lawrence quarterbacked his team to a National Championship.
He already is a star for accomplishing that in college.
In reality, his stardom began in high school, and he has handled it well over the years.
An opposing head coach, Darrell Sutherland, talks about watching then high school senior Trevor Lawrence play in a game that aired on ESPN.
“We got to watch the film (in preparation for the matchup) we thought, ‘Wow, he’s really as good as advertised.’ But until you go and see him in person…some of the throws that he made during that game and the way that he kept his poise and his competitiveness and the focus was really obvious. And then, just incredible arm strength…I can still picture this one where he throws one from one hash to the opposite sideline. And it never, it has zero arc on it. I mean, it never gets above where he released it. And the three or four of the coaches that were standing on the sidelines, we just looked at each other like, ‘That’s pretty good.’…I was really just impressed with the way that, as a high school senior, he handled the stardom and that kind of the show of getting to play on ESPN and that the fans that were there, and I thought you know, everybody involved there really handled it well,”
Hard Working And Mature
Lawrence, by all accounts, trains and works very hard.
This can make the difference between being a star or a bust in the NFL.
Look no further than Johnny Manziel to consider what can go wrong despite being a talented, accomplished college player.
Trevor Lawrence appears to have the maturity to handle his newfound NFL stardom.
His month of April has been very busy.
He wed his longtime girlfriend Marissa Mowry last week.

Lawrence (and Mowry) also took in some Master’s action before the wedding.

While there, they ran into Patrick Mahomes.
With his personal life settled and happy, Lawrence can focus on being the next big NFL star.
