The Houston Rockets struck gold during the NBA Lottery.
After only one season of rebuilding, they were able to gain the second pick of this year’s NBA Draft.
For a couple of weeks, it looked as if the Rockets were trying to move up to the first pick and select Cade Cunningham.
However, they stayed at the second pick and took Jalen Green.
For the last few years, the media has been ready to see Green in the NBA.
He has shown flashes for a good time to be a legitimate NBA prospect.
Now the time is here.
The Rockets were looking for Cunningham, but taking Green was the right move.
There are so many reasons why this pick was perfect.
This selection can set up for the future of this organization.
Green going to the Rockets is a match made in heaven.
Scoring Prowess
The one thing Green will do as soon as he plays his first game is score.
"Put me anywhere. Ask me to get a bucket and I promise I will."

Green played in the G-League this past year and held his own.
He was able to average 18 points per game on 46 percent shooting from the field.
This was against real players.
A lot of the G-League guys have NBA experience.
Green was able to score against these players.
His athleticism is also off the charts.
He can easily drive to the basket in the NBA.
Scoring by far is the biggest plus in his game.
It is not just a guy that can shoot, or is just athletic.
Green can score in multiple facets of the game.
The Rockets need scoring.
They were ranked 24th in team scoring in the NBA this past season.
Green will help raise the ranking for the foreseeable future.
Do not be shocked to see Green win Rookie of the Year with a great regular season performance.
Green Has Star Potential
Cunningham, Evan Mobley, or maybe someone else can be the best player from this draft a few years from now.
However, Green is the one with the star power heading into the first year for this draft class.

He was the number one player in high school and has been a household name for at least three years now.
His Instagram has a lot of buzz, rappers already hangout with him, and he can still back it up on the court.
The Rockets lost James Harden; a true superstar and one of the greatest scorers of all-time.
They might have the perfect replacement already.
When most teams lose a superstar, they take a long time to replace that player.
In some cases, the organization might not be able to replicate it.
The Rockets are on the trajectory to do so after just one season without a superstar.
Green has all the tools and he is ready to contribute.
The Rockets will be must-see TV for the next couple of years and maybe a destination for young players.
This was the best move possible and the Rockets did great by drafting Green with the second pick.
