iPhones are undoubtedly the trendiest cell phones on the market.
From their sleek design to the user-friendly interface, there are so many reasons iPhones are the most popular.
The Apple brand was created in 1976 by Steve Jobs in his home garage.
The brand almost failed in 1997, but Jobs’s innovative technological prowess and marketing skills saved the company and made it one of the most popular and highly traded companies in the world.
Apple started by manufacturing computers but has since expanded its products to include tablets, phones, music players, streaming devices, tech pencils, headphones, and much more.
iPhones are one of its most successful products.
Why Are iPhones So Expensive? (Top 10 Reasons)
1. User-Friendly Interface
One of the trademark features of Apple devices is the easy-to-use interface that anyone can pick up and learn quickly.
While PC devices made by Dell, IBM, and Sony can be challenging to figure out and are often riddled with bugs and viruses, Apple has intuitive software that is easy to learn.
For people who need more help in learning how to work an Apple product, the Apple store runs several free classes for learning things from beginner to advanced technology levels.
Since the brand’s inception, Apple has sought to erase the need for an instruction manual by making all of the products intuitive.
iTunes made music so easy that it ushered in the extinction of the CD.
Steve Jobs himself said, “Any product that needs a manual is broken.”
One of the reasons iPhones are so expensive is that you can buy yourself a lot of time that you would have otherwise spent trying to learn how to use the device.
iPhones are so easy to use that there is no need for an instruction manual.
2. High-Quality Hardware
The main difference between Android and Apple phones is the lifetime use of the phones.
After purchasing an Android, it may function quickly and efficiently with performance comparable to that of an iPhone.
However, the performance quickly starts to decrease, usually within six to seven months.
Users can reset the phone to bring back some of its performance capability, but it will never be able to function as it did when it was first purchased.
iPhones, on the other hand, retain their performance capability for years.
They can still function as fast as they did when they were first purchased.
The main reason for this is that Apple uses extremely high-quality materials to make their phones, which ensures a lifetime use capacity much longer than that of Android iPhones.
To afford these great materials, Apple needs to charge a hefty price.
iPhones often cost upwards of $1,000, especially for the new models.
Even though iPhones have a hefty price point, it pays off in the end because the phones last much longer than the several $300 Androids that you would have to buy in the same period as owning a single iPhone that could last you many years.
3. Incredible Cameras
The iPhone camera is the highest quality smartphone camera on the market.
In fact, iPhone cameras have largely replaced digital cameras for taking photos.
Another benefit is that these high-quality cameras come in such small packages.
They also provide HD video recording technology which means you do not need to bring your camcorder with you to special events.
You can now record quickly and easily with the touch of a button on your iPhone, and then you can quickly upload it to social media or send it to friends within the space of a few seconds.
When scrolling through Instagram stories or Snapchat, it is easily evident which videos and pictures came from iPhones, and which came from Androids.
Android photos are grainier, and the videos are very slow with audio that does not exactly match the video.
For users who are interested in having a high-quality phone, camera, and media player all in one, iPhones are the way to go.
iPhone cameras have always been ahead of the game but have really outdone themselves in recent years.
Now, you can add so many effects and modes to your images including “live,” which means each photo includes a few seconds of video with it.
You can also activate portrait mode to take highly focused photos of someone’s face.
Another example is the panorama, which allows you to take photos of large landscapes.
The iPhone 11 and up now include multiple cameras, which are automatically activated based on the type of photo you are taking.
As a result, you get extremely high-quality photos without even trying.
Though they come at high prices, this is partly because you are buying a phone, camera, and camcorder all in one.
When you look at it that way, it is quite a deal.
4. Cloud Storage
Another way that Apple paved the way in smartphone technology is through the use of iCloud, which allows users to store their photos, videos, documents, and more on an external hard drive that exists in the metaverse.
This means that iPhone storage can be used a lot more efficiently.
You will still be able to access everything you need as long as you are connected to the Internet.
It will just take a few seconds for the phone to access the cloud and retrieve the high-quality version of the photo, document, or app that you are looking for.
This eliminates the need for purchasing extra hard drives or a phone with more storage capacity.
You can access iCloud from any piece of technology if you have your username and password, even from a PC.
If you realize you desperately need a document but do not have your computer with you, you can just sign in to iCloud to get anything you need with amazing quality.
Twenty to thirty years ago, the main mode of photo storage was to print the pictures and save them in an album.
Now, with iCloud, you can still print all your photos, but now, you can access them without worrying that they will get scratched or damaged.
Another benefit is that you can access them at any point with the touch of a button if you ever feel the urge to relive a summer vacation from four years ago or print a photo in a different size.
5. Multitasking Capabilities
Another benefit of the iPhone is its fast processing speed.
As a result, iPhones can easily switch between different apps without slowing down performance.
For example, you can deposit a mobile check through your banking app and then quickly go back to taking a photo, playing Sims, or uploading a photo to Instagram.
iPhones keep all these applications running in the background, so they are always ready when you want to go back to them.
iPhones are great for students and professionals who rely on their phones to communicate and accomplish tasks.
Androids cannot handle these labor-intensive demands.
iPhones are so expensive because they allow users to accomplish so much in so little time, without straining or damaging their phones.
6. Compatibility With Other Apple Devices
Another benefit of the iCloud technology is that it automatically syncs with all your Apple products.
This means that as soon as you type a document on your MacBook, you can access it on your iPhone.
Similarly, when you take a photo on your iPhone, it will upload automatically to your computer via photostream.
This is incredibly useful because it eliminates the need for you to email yourself important things or upload them to a Google Drive or hard drive.
All your important files will be self-contained within your iCloud account.
Another benefit of this is that when you misplace an Apple product, you can use another Apple product to see where it is.
If your iPhone is stolen or lost, you can look on your computer to see where it is located.
From this program, you can tell the phone to make an alarm sound that will play loudly so you can find it, or at least find the person who may have it.
You can also lock the phone so that anyone who finds it cannot use it without your special password.
If you have an iCloud family account, you can also use this to track your family members’ Apple products including Airpods, iPads, iPhones, and Macbooks.
When you buy an iPhone, you are buying the seamless technology that allows you to connect your phone to your and others’ Apple products.
7. Security
Apple has developed strong security measures that prevent hackers from breaking into their devices.
This has allowed customers to develop trust in Apple, which in turn, allows Apple to sell its products at a premium.
In recent years, there have been several data breaches from websites that supposedly had high security, including Google and Wells Fargo.
Apple, on the other hand, has stayed relatively out of the spotlight because of the amount of effort it puts into protecting the data of its users.
Additionally, instead of automatically taking users’ data without their permission to use for company research, Apple serves a warning on their users’ apps such as health, stocks, internet, and others, asking if the user will allow these permissions.
Apple is very transparent when it comes to users’ data, so people never have to worry if their information is being used sneakily or without explicit permission.
Celebrities are often targets of data breaches because their personal photos and information would be worth thousands or even millions of dollars.
Most celebrities use iPhones because they know that Apple technology will protect them from these issues.
Apple knows that its users are willing to pay high prices for privacy and safety.
8. Novel Technology
Apple is the trendsetter when it comes to new technology.
Lots of other companies follow in Apple’s footsteps.
For example, Apple created the Airpods, and other brands quickly followed suit by creating other forms of wireless headphones.
The iPod broke records in terms of portable media players.
New Apple products use USB-C adapters, and now companies are adapting their phones to use USB-C as well.
The iPad encouraged people all over the world to invest in tablets as an alternative or more portable option to computers.
iPhones were the first major phones to rely on touch screen technology.
Now, all smartphones use touch screens.
Apple users know that when they invest in iPhones, they are investing in the highest technology the smartphone market has to offer.
Another thing for users to look forward to are the software updates, which may include surprising and useful additions to their already-revolutionary phones.
People look forward to Apple’s yearly seminars because the CEO of the company always reveals new technology, including the newest iPhone, that will be available in the coming year.
One of the best features of iPhones is the use of Apple Wallet, including Apple Pay, which allows users to pay with contactless technology on most payment systems throughout the United States.
Apple Wallet allows users to store their tickets on their phones, which will conveniently come up on the display when the event comes closer.
iPhones were also the first to popularize face-to-face video calling via Facetime.
iPhones are so expensive because they use the best technology on the market, and users know that when they purchase an iPhone, they are buying the best experience they can possibly have with any smartphone.
9. Strong Reviews And Customer Service
Apple is known for its incredible customer service when it comes to dealing with consumer complaints.
While many customers complain about long hold times when they have problems with their technology, Apple is very quick to answer the phone and will always have representatives available who speak the customer’s native language.
This eliminates frustration and allows issues to be resolved faster.
Apple also pledges to fix any issues that arise due to their own fault.
For example, for Macbooks released between 2017 and 2020 that included a butterfly keyboard, Apple pledged to replace the display and keyboard at no additional cost because of known issues that arose from the keyboard getting jammed.
Additionally, a few years ago, Apple had problems with their iPhone batteries dying prematurely and not holding a charge.
As a result, the company agreed to replace the batteries of all iPhones.
For users who would rather go in person, you can make an appointment at any Apple store for a trained technician to help you resolve issues with your product at the “Genius Bar.”
As a result of Apple’s devotion to its customers, users consistently praise the company for its pledge to high-quality products and a great user experience.
When users choose to buy an iPhone, they are not only buying a phone but the premium service that Apple provides for all its products.
10. Branding
When Steve Jobs started Apple, one of his main goals was to establish Apple as a worldwide brand, not just a small company.
Now, the company has become known for its innovative technology and reliable security.
With this, however, comes the fact that all Apple products are known to be expensive.
For this reason, iPhones have become something of a status symbol, like a sports car or a designer bag.
Celebrities always have the newest iPhones, and people are always excited to flex their iPhones as an indicator of their wealth.
Apple has reached the status of being a trillion-dollar company for good reason.
Their products are extremely expensive.
iPhones are really popular in the United States because the worth of the U.S. dollar means that phones are more affordable there.
However, in many second-and third-world countries, iPhones are few and far between because the currency value means that iPhones are extremely out of reach, save for the very rich.
Apple seeks to maintain its reputation as a premium company with products that are status symbols.
Therefore, iPhones are sold at high prices that seem to increase with every new model.
The good news is that customers looking for iPhones at a lower price can look for secondhand, refurbished, or older-model phones that will still get them the premium Apple experience at a fraction of the cost.
How To Keep Your iPhone Longer
Now that you know why iPhones are so expensive, and why the price is worth it, you might be wondering how to keep your smartphone running as long as possible to make the most of your investment.
Here are some ways to keep your iPhone performing at peak capacity.
1. Keep Your Software Up To Date
Software updates fix bugs in your product and add new features that will improve your phone’s performance.
By updating your software as soon as updates are available, you will keep your phone functioning the best that it can.
Other apps and programs often update themselves to match new iPhone software, so you’ll want to make sure your phone is constantly updated.
You can often program your phone to perform these updates at night, so you don’t miss any precious phone time.
2. Protect It From Physical Damage
This is perhaps one of the most obvious ways to keep your phone running for the long term.
You can buy a glass screen protector and a strong phone case that will keep it from sustaining physical damage.
Even if you crack your phone and it seems to be functioning fine, there is still the possibility that dirt can seep through the cracks and damage the small hardware pieces in the phone, which can harm its functionality in the long run.
3. Do Not Overcharge The Battery
This is true of any piece of technology.
Batteries are programmed to only last for a certain number of charges.
If you leave your device plugged in overnight, the phone will think that it is being charged repeatedly, thus shortening its battery life in the long term.
As a result, you should try your best to charge your phone during the day so you can unplug it as soon as it is full.
Apple has added a feature for the product to automatically stop charging if it detects that it will be plugged in for a long time.
Still, it is best to not overcharge it just in case.
Conclusion
Now you know ten reasons iPhones are so expensive and three ways to keep your phone functioning at its best for a long time.
If you take good care of your iPhone, you can keep it running for upwards of five years.
Apple has established itself as a trustworthy brand with great customer service, groundbreaking technology, top-notch security, and more.
You are also making it a lot easier for yourself by purchasing a product that is compatible with other Apple products.
Though iPhones include a high price tag, you are investing in a camera, music player and phone all in one.
Additionally, you are investing in your own convenience.

iPhones are so expensive because people are standing in line with fists full of cash just waiting to hand it over to Apple.

Apples is kind of contradicting themselves as iPhone/mac products uses high quality materials and so on to ensure the longervity of the life cycle of products and usablities etc…. But, we all know that after about 3 years and too many updates etc… your iPhone are start seening the end of the life cycle which are caused by system application and apps. Apple used to be trustful digital tool for designers, but since Apple became a status/fashion symbol and people are willing to spend thousands of £££ on a phone. They’ve created a great business model I must say.
