Who Has The Best Infield In MLB?

The 2022 MLB season is right around the corner: after all fans went through in the last few months, they will finally hear the “play ball” voice on April 7.

By now, virtually every roster is set, so we can start discussing who has the best offense, who has the best pitching staff, or who has the most impressive farm system.

What about the infield, though?

When trying to decide which team has the best collection of talent in the diamond, several organizations are worth mentioning.

For example, the New York Yankees have a former batting champion (DJ LeMahieu), a former MVP (Josh Donaldson), and one of the stars of last decade (Anthony Rizzo), not to mention a prime bounce-back candidate in Gleyber Torres.

The Houston Astros have a former MVP in Jose Altuve and a current star in Alex Bregman, plus the always solid Yuli Gurriel.

The New York Mets have Francisco Lindor, Pete Alonso, and Robinson Cano; and the Texas Rangers brought in Corey Seager and Marcus Semien in the offseason.

There are, however, four infields ahead of the pack.

These Infields Are Ahead Of The Rest

The Toronto Blue Jays have Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette, Matt Chapman, and Cavan Biggio: a rock-solid group that has power, on-base skills, speed, and contact ability.

The Boston Red Sox’s left side is extremely impressive, with Rafael Devers, Xander Bogaerts, and Trevor Story playing second base.

Freddie Freeman is a stellar addition to the Los Angeles Dodgers’ already top-tier group of Justin Turner, Trea Turner, and Max Muncy.

The reigning World Champions, the Atlanta Braves, boast Austin Riley, Dansby Swanson, Ozzie Albies, and Matt Olson.

It’s really hard to pick just one!

The Dodgers look like the winners after adding Freeman, but you really can’t go wrong with any of those four.

Which infield would you choose?
