The 2022-2023 MLB offseason is officially underway.
So far, the Chicago White Sox have been pretty busy, having been on the hunt for a new manager after the departure of Tony La Russa.
The White Sox chose to hire Pedro Grifol, who had been the bench coach for the Kansas City Royals, as their new manager.
In terms of free agency, the White Sox made a couple of decisions today with some players currently on their roster.
Today, it was announced that the team would be picking up shortstop Tim Anderson‘s $12.5 million club option.
It was also announced that the White Sox would be declining veteran infielder Josh Harrison‘s $5.5 million club option.

Sox Keep TA, Decline Option On Harrison
The good news for the White Sox is that they’ll have Anderson around for at least one more year.
The shortstop hit .301 with 13 doubles, six home runs, 25 RBI, and 50 runs scored in 79 games.
Anderson was the starting shortstop for the American League All-Star team in July, but missed the back half of the regular season with a finger injury.
His health will be a major key for the White Sox in 2023 as they look to rebound from a disappointing finish.
Harrison is a super-utility player who can play multiple positions in the infield and in the outfield.
There will certainly be some teams interested in his services if any are looking for a utility player and a bat off the bench.
Harrison hit for a .256 average with 19 doubles, seven homers, and 27 RBI during the regular season.
