The banged up Chicago White Sox, expected to be the clear favorites to win the AL Central division, are currently second behind the Minnesota Twins.
Part of their struggles stem from an injury crisis that affected the roster at all levels.
Reliever Aaron Bummer, outfielders Andrew Vaughn and Eloy Jimenez, and pitchers Lance Lynn, Garrett Crochet, and Jonathan Stiever are all on the shelf.
However, the team recently got some exciting news on the injury front.
“Sox activate Yoán Moncada and Joe Kelly before the start of this week’s series against the Guardians. Aaron Bummer goes on the injured list, Jake Burger goes to Triple-A Charlotte in the corresponding moves,” Vinnie Duber, the White Sox beat writer for CHGO Sports, tweeted on Monday afternoon.

Good News For The Sox On The Injury Front
Moncada is a very solid third baseman and Kelly is a top middle relief option when healthy, so their returns are good news for a White Sox team that has improved, but still has some catching up to do in the standings.
The 14-13 White Sox are on a six-game winning streak and have also won seven of their last ten games, so they are definitely trending up.
The Twins, however, have played excellent baseball all season and currently lead the AL Central division with a 18-11 record.
Still, the Pale Hose are just three games back, and they should be getting Lynn back relatively soon.
Vaughn should also be close to returning to the active roster.
In the meantime, the team will keep trying to get closer to the Twins and hold off the 14-14 Cleveland Guardians in what is shaping up to be a three-team race for the division.
