The Golden State Warriors are this close to winning yet another NBA championship.
After Monday night’s major victory over the Boston Celtics in Game 5 of the Finals, Steph Curry and his squad are on the verge of winning it all in Game 6 or 7.
There are many people to thank for the current success of the Warriors, from Curry to head coach Steve Kerr to…the Minnesota Timberwolves?
The Minnesota Timberwolves are god's gift to the Warriors.
They:
• Passed on Steph Curry twice in the NBA Draft
• Couldn't finalize a Klay Thompson-Kevin Love deal
• Traded GSW Andrew Wiggins AND a first-round pick— Dieter Kurtenbach (@dieter) June 14, 2022
Dieter Kurtenbach went into great detail about how the Timberwolves have inadvertently helped build the golden era of Golden State.
For starters, the team passed on Curry twice in the NBA Draft, something they are certainly kicking themselves over now.
Secondly, they weren’t able to complete a deal for Klay Thompson and Kevin Love, providing the Warriors with one of the greatest shooters of all time.
Thirdly, they send Andrew Wiggins to the Warriors and he is becoming a bonafide monster for Golden State.
All in all, fans of the Warriors should definitely be thanking the Timberwolves.
The Ruling Dynasty
When this era of basketball is written about in the history books, the Warriors will be a huge part of it.
They have been a dominant force in the league for years now and have quite literally changed the way the game is played.
They have appeared in six of the last eight Finals and have earned themselves three rings.
Meanwhile, the Timberwolves have not had nearly as much luck.
The team has struggled to make it into the playoffs and has only recently started to really come together.
They have a long way to go before they are anything like the Warriors but there is reason to believe that the T-Wolves, despite all their bad choices over the years, are a team to keep an eye on.
They certainly made mistakes but they are moving beyond that.
