There are many reasons to celebrate the season the Golden State Warriors just had.
Obviously, it all ended with the Larry O’Brien Trophy as the Warriors won the NBA Finals but there were many other great moments to cheer for throughout the season.
941 days away from the game.

But few moments were as great as the heralded return of Klay Thompson.
Thompson sat on the sidelines for nearly 1,000 days due to a pretty serious injury.
After nearly three years away from the game, Thompson came back and the fans were beyond ready to see him play again.
It took him a little while to start looking like his normal old self again but Thompson was soon cooking and was a pivotal part of the team’s latest championship win.
That’s why the team is encouraging fans to vote for Thompson as the “Best Comeback Athlete” at this year’s ESPYS.
There’s a darn good chance he wins that trophy too.
Comeback Klay
It was shocking to see Thompson sit out of the game for so long.
The man lives and breathes basketball and obviously wanted to come back and help his team but physically wasn’t able to.
The Warriors were already doing well in the season before Thompson’s return but followers of the team knew they’d get so much better with Thompson back in uniform.
They also knew that his comeback wouldn’t be like flipping a switch; it would take some time for him to perform as he used to.
Sure enough, he had to shake a little rust off his game but he was soon sinking threes and weaving in and out of defense.
As it stands now, Thompson is playing like the pro he is and is obviously elated to be back.
